Features

Prerequisite

You need:

  1. PyQt4
  2. PyNIfTI
  3. QScintilla (generally comes with PyQt) [1]
  4. NumPy

Installation

Linux

Fedora
  1. Install PyQt4, VTK,
yum install PyQt4 vtk-python qscintilla-python numpy

Windows

Note

You might be able to install VTK from the Enthought distribution

  1. Download PyQt4 (This includes QScintilla)
  2. Install NumPy
  3. Download PyNIfTI and install it

OS X

These instructions are only theoretical since I have not had a chance to fully try this on OS X

  1. Install NumPy

For the rest of the components you have two options:

Compile from source directly:

  1. Install Qt: Framework Only
  2. Compile PyQt4
  3. Install PyNIfTI

OR

Use MacPorts:

Install PyQt4, and PyNIfTI

To add icons edit the resources.qrc and then run the PyQt resource compiler: pyrcc4 resources.qrc > resources_rc.py

Notes

[1]PyVTK is a total pain to install on non GNU/Linux systems as such it is optional if you want to view 3D volumes but do not have OpenGL 2.0 support (i.e. GLSL)
[2]This will probably become an optional requirement. Only necessary for the Python console and Editor
[3]If there is a huge demand for tarballs (or when development advances more) I'll start generating them.

2. Download VTK w/ Python 4. Compile VTK (optional)
